photography 1 - the first photo

This is the start of my online journal for Photography 1. Today in class we went through how to process our photos in Camera Raw. I used the picture of my daughter Milla below to practice the techniques.

Sharing a pot of tea at the table with Milla. She was so happy to be catching a moment with mum alone and for the first time I let her have a china cup to drink from instead of plastic one, so she was feeling very grown up and special which you can see in her expression. I love the light and dark in this photo, especially the highlights in her curls and the hint of nature outside in window behind, but above all the clarity in her eyes that draw you straight in.
